  1. Teach and mentor medical students, residents, and fellows in the field of surgery.
  2. Conduct research in the area of surgery and publish findings in reputable journals.
  3. Participate in departmental and university committees to contribute to the growth and development of the program.
  4. Collaborate with other faculty members to develop and implement innovative teaching methods and curriculum.
  5. Provide exceptional patient care and serve as a role model to students and colleagues.
  6. Stay current with advancements in the field of surgery and incorporate new techniques and technologies into teaching and patient care.
  7. Attend and present at national and international conferences to share research findings and represent the university.
  8. Serve as a resource and advocate for patients, families, and the community.
  9. Participate in the recruitment and selection of new faculty members and assist with their onboarding and orientation.
  10. Maintain a professional and collegial relationship with colleagues, staff, and students to foster a collaborative and supportive work environment.

Job Qualifications
  • Medical Degree: The Ideal Candidate For This Position Will Have A Medical Degree From An Accredited Institution. This Is A Basic Requirement For Any Clinical Position In Surgery.

  • Board Certification In Surgery: The Candidate Should Be Board Certified In Surgery By The American Board Of Surgery Or Equivalent. This Certification Demonstrates A High Level Of Expertise And Knowledge In The Field Of Surgery.

  • Teaching Experience: The Assistant Professor Of Clinical Surgery Will Be Responsible For Teaching Medical Students, Residents, And Fellows. Therefore, They Should Have Previous Experience In Teaching And Mentoring In An Academic Setting.

  • Clinical Experience: The Candidate Should Have A Minimum Of 3-5 Years Of Clinical Experience In Surgery. This Experience Should Include A Broad Range Of Surgical Procedures And A Track Record Of Successful Outcomes.

  • Research Experience: The University Of Southern California Values Research And Encourages Its Faculty To Actively Participate In Research Projects. The Ideal Candidate Should Have A Strong Research Background, With A Track Record Of Publications And Grants In The Field Of Surgery.
