
Biological Scientist
Performs more complex technical and research functions on projects involving mice, including mouse colony management, tissue harvest, and stereotaxic injections. Duties are varied and require theoretical knowledge as well as research experience in animal husbandry. Plans and conducts experimental protocols within the framework of the research objectives. Assists in the characterization of mice, immunohisto chemistry, behavior tests, etc. Maintains automated histology and immunohisto chemistry instruments; train and assist lab personnel with automated tissue processing and staining. Collects and analyzes data and specimens. Modifies and adapts standard procedures to meet the needs of the project under the supervision of the Principal Investigator or other leadership positions within the laboratory. Set-up and perform experiments, interact with students and other laboratory staff under the direction of the principal investigator or other leadership positions in the lab.
2 years of research experience is required
