Welcome to the University of Rhode Island! We are currently seeking a highly qualified and dedicated individual to join our team as a Specialist for Research Grants. This position will play a crucial role in supporting the university's research efforts by managing and coordinating the grant application process for faculty and staff.   1. Manage and coordinate the grant application process for faculty and staff, ensuring that all necessary documents and information are submitted accurately and on time.
  2. Serve as a point of contact for faculty and staff seeking information and assistance with grant applications, providing guidance and support throughout the process.
  3. Stay up-to-date on the latest grant funding opportunities and requirements, and communicate this information to faculty and staff.
  4. Work closely with university departments and offices to ensure compliance with grant regulations and policies.
  5. Review grant proposals for completeness and accuracy, making necessary revisions and suggestions for improvement.
  6. Maintain organized records of grant applications and awards, including tracking progress and outcomes.
  7. Collaborate with faculty and staff to develop and write grant proposals, providing guidance and expertise in the application process.
  8. Assist in budget planning and management for grant-funded projects.
  9. Conduct research and analysis to identify potential funding sources and opportunities for faculty and staff.
  10. Participate in professional development activities to stay current in the field of research grant management.
  11. Represent the university in meetings and presentations related to grant funding opportunities.
  12. Foster a collaborative and supportive environment within the research grants team and across university departments.
  13. Uphold the university's mission and values in all aspects of the job.
  14. Contribute to the advancement of knowledge and research at the university through dedication and passion for the field.
  15. Other duties as assigned by supervisors.

Job Qualifications
  • A Minimum Of A Master's Degree In A Relevant Field Such As Grant Writing, Research Administration, Or A Related Discipline.

  • At Least 3 Years Of Experience In Grant Writing And Management, Preferably In A University Or Academic Setting.

  • Excellent Knowledge Of Federal And Private Funding Agencies, Grant Application Processes, And Compliance Requirements.

  • Strong Analytical And Critical Thinking Skills To Assess Grant Proposals And Budgets For Accuracy And Feasibility.

  • Excellent Communication And Interpersonal Skills To Effectively Collaborate With Faculty, Staff, And External Partners In Developing Grant Proposals And Managing Grant Projects.
