- Protect and serve the University of Pittsburgh community by enforcing laws and university policies.
- Patrol designated areas of campus to deter crime and respond to any incidents or emergencies.
- Interact with students, faculty, and staff in a professional and respectful manner.
- Conduct investigations and gather evidence to support criminal cases and/or university disciplinary actions.
- Maintain accurate and thorough documentation of all activities and incidents.
- Collaborate with other law enforcement agencies and university departments to ensure the safety and security of the campus.
- Respond to calls for service and provide assistance to individuals in need.
- Attend and participate in trainings, workshops, and meetings to maintain and improve skills and knowledge.
- Use appropriate force and tactics when necessary to resolve conflicts and maintain order.
- Serve as a role model and maintain a high level of integrity and ethical standards in all interactions.
- Keep up-to-date on laws, policies, and procedures relevant to the job.

Completion Of A Police Academy Training Program: Prospective Upb Police Officers Must Have Successfully Completed A Police Academy Training Program, Which Includes Training In Areas Such As Criminal Law, Emergency Response, And Firearms Proficiency.
Minimum Education Requirement: Applicants Must Possess A High School Diploma Or Equivalent, And Preferably Have Some College Coursework In Criminal Justice Or A Related Field.
Physical Fitness And Agility: Upb Police Officers Must Be Physically Fit And Able To Pass A Rigorous Physical Fitness Test, As Well As Demonstrate Agility And Strength In Various Scenarios They May Encounter On The Job.
Clean Background Check And Drug Test: As Law Enforcement Officers, Upb Police Officers Must Have A Clean Criminal Record And Be Able To Pass A Thorough Background Check And Drug Test.
Excellent Communication And Interpersonal Skills: Effective Communication And Interpersonal Skills Are Crucial For Upb Police Officers To Interact With The Diverse Community At The University Of Pittsburgh. They Must Also Be Able To Remain Calm And Professional In High-Stress Situations.
