Welcome to the University of Pittsburgh! We are currently seeking a highly organized, creative, and detail-oriented individual to join our team as an Event Planner. As an Event Planner, you will have the opportunity to plan and execute a variety of events for our campus community, including conferences, meetings, performances, and more. We are looking for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment, has excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and is able to manage multiple projects simultaneously.   1. Plan and execute a wide range of events for the University of Pittsburgh campus community, including conferences, meetings, performances, and more.
  2. Collaborate with various departments and stakeholders to determine event goals, objectives, and logistics.
  3. Develop event timelines, budgets, and plans to ensure successful and efficient execution of events.
  4. Source and negotiate with vendors to secure the best rates and services for events.
  5. Manage event registration, RSVPs, and attendee lists.
  6. Communicate event details and updates to relevant parties, including attendees, speakers, and vendors.
  7. Monitor event progress and make necessary adjustments to ensure a seamless experience for all participants.
  8. Coordinate with campus facilities and services to secure event spaces, equipment, and other necessary resources.
  9. Conduct post-event evaluations and gather feedback to continually improve future events.
  10. Stay updated on industry trends and best practices to enhance event planning strategies and techniques.
  11. Manage event budgets and expenses, ensuring timely and accurate reporting.
  12. Develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders and vendors to support future event planning efforts.
  13. Adhere to all university policies and procedures, particularly in regards to budget management and event planning.
  14. Assist with other campus events and duties as needed.

Job Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree In Event Planning, Hospitality Management, Or A Related Field.

  • Minimum Of 2 Years Of Experience In Event Planning, Preferably Within A University Setting.

  • Knowledge Of Event Planning Software And Systems, Such As Cvent Or Eventbrite.
