
UACS Summer: Social-Emotional Learning (SEL) Coach
At the University of Pennsylvania's Urban Affairs and Community Service (UACS) Summer program, we believe that every child deserves the opportunity to thrive academically, socially, and emotionally. As a SEL Coach, you will play a crucial role in creating a positive and supportive learning environment for our students to develop essential social and emotional skills. - Develop and implement a comprehensive social-emotional learning curriculum for students in the UACS Summer program.
- Conduct assessments to identify students' social and emotional needs and create personalized plans for their development.
- Facilitate engaging and interactive lessons and activities that promote self-awareness, self-management, social awareness, relationship skills, and responsible decision-making.
- Collaborate with teachers, staff, and parents to support students' social and emotional growth both in and out of the classroom.
- Provide individual coaching and support to students who may be struggling with specific social and emotional challenges.
- Maintain accurate records and data on students' progress and provide regular reports to program leaders and parents.
- Create a safe and inclusive learning environment that fosters a sense of belonging and promotes positive relationships among students.
- Attend team meetings and professional development opportunities to continually improve and enhance the SEL curriculum and strategies.
- Serve as a positive role model for students and demonstrate a commitment to the program's mission and values.
- Collaborate with community partners and resources to provide additional support and resources for students' social and emotional well-being.
Bachelor's Or Master's Degree In Education, Psychology, Counseling, Or Related Field.
Experience In Implementing And Facilitating Social-Emotional Learning (Sel) Programs.
Knowledge Of Evidence-Based Sel Practices And Ability To Adapt Them To Meet The Needs Of Diverse Populations.
Strong Understanding Of Child And Adolescent Development, Trauma-Informed Care, And Restorative Practices.
Excellent Communication And Interpersonal Skills, With The Ability To Collaborate With A Team And Build Relationships With Students, Families, And School Staff.
