Welcome to the University of Pennsylvania's Fitness Center! We are currently seeking a passionate and experienced Pilates Instructor to join our dynamic team. As a Pilates Instructor at UPenn, you will have the opportunity to lead and inspire our diverse community of students, faculty, and staff to achieve their fitness goals.   1. Lead Pilates classes for students, faculty, and staff at the University of Pennsylvania's Fitness Center.
  2. Create a welcoming and inclusive environment for all participants.
  3. Develop and implement dynamic and engaging Pilates workouts that cater to various fitness levels and goals.
  4. Ensure the safety of all participants during classes by providing proper instruction and modifications when necessary.
  5. Stay up-to-date with current fitness trends and research to continuously improve and enhance classes.
  6. Monitor class attendance and provide feedback to participants to help them achieve their fitness goals.
  7. Collaborate with other fitness instructors and staff to coordinate class schedules and promote a well-rounded fitness program.
  8. Maintain a professional and positive attitude while representing the University of Pennsylvania's Fitness Center.
  9. Provide excellent customer service by answering questions, addressing concerns, and assisting with membership inquiries.
  10. Participate in staff meetings, trainings, and ongoing education opportunities to stay informed and up-to-date with fitness center policies and procedures.

Job Qualifications
  • Certification In Pilates Instruction: The University Of Pennsylvania Requires All Pilates Instructors To Hold A Nationally Recognized Certification In Pilates Instruction. This Ensures That The Instructor Has The Necessary Knowledge And Skills To Effectively Teach Pilates To Students Of All Levels.

  • Experience In Teaching Pilates: The Ideal Candidate For This Position Should Have At Least 2-3 Years Of Experience Teaching Pilates To Individuals Or Group Classes. This Will Demonstrate Their Ability To Create And Lead Effective Pilates Sessions For A Diverse Range Of Students.

  • Strong Communication And Interpersonal Skills: As A Pilates Instructor At The University Of Pennsylvania, The Candidate Will Be Responsible For Working Closely With Students Of Varying Ages And Abilities. Therefore, Strong Communication And Interpersonal Skills Are Crucial To Effectively Guide And Motivate Students.

  • Knowledge Of Anatomy And Physiology: A Thorough Understanding Of Human Anatomy And Physiology Is Essential For A Pilates Instructor. This Knowledge Will Enable Them To Design Safe And Effective Exercises That Target Specific Muscle Groups And Address Any Injuries Or Limitations Of The Students.

  • Flexibility And Availability: The University Of Pennsylvania Offers Pilates Classes During Various Times Of The Day, Including Early Mornings, Evenings, And Weekends. The Ideal Candidate Should Have A Flexible Schedule And Be Available To Teach Classes At Different Times To Accommodate The Needs Of Students.
