Welcome to the Penn Museum Summer Camp! We are seeking enthusiastic and dedicated individuals to join our team as Camp Counselors for the upcoming summer. As a counselor, you will have the opportunity to inspire and educate campers as they explore the world of archaeology and anthropology through hands-on activities and interactive experiences.   • Create a welcoming and inclusive environment for campers by greeting them enthusiastically and ensuring their safety and well-being throughout the camp day
  • Plan and lead age-appropriate activities, games, and discussions related to archaeology and anthropology
  • Collaborate with fellow counselors to develop and implement engaging lesson plans and daily schedules
  • Foster a positive and supportive atmosphere among campers by encouraging teamwork, respect, and curiosity
  • Serve as a positive role model for campers by demonstrating enthusiasm, responsibility, and professionalism
  • Communicate effectively with campers, parents, and fellow staff members to provide updates and address any concerns or issues that may arise
  • Attend all required trainings and meetings to ensure a thorough understanding of camp policies, procedures, and safety protocols
  • Assist with set-up and clean-up of camp activities and materials
  • Adhere to all camp rules and regulations, including maintaining a drug and alcohol-free environment
  • Continuously evaluate and adjust activities based on camper engagement and feedback to ensure a fun and educational experience for all participants

Job Qualifications
  • Experience Working With Children: A Summer Camp Counselor At The Penn Museum Should Have Previous Experience Working With Children In A Camp Or Educational Setting. This May Include Experience As A Camp Counselor, Teacher, Or Youth Group Leader.

  • Knowledge Of Archaeology And Anthropology: The Penn Museum Is A Renowned Institution For Archaeology And Anthropology, And The Summer Camp Counselor Should Have A Strong Understanding Of These Subjects. This May Include Coursework Or Field Experience In These Fields.

  • Strong Communication Skills: As A Camp Counselor, It Is Important To Communicate Effectively With Campers, Parents, And Other Staff Members. The Ideal Candidate Should Possess Strong Verbal And Written Communication Skills.

  • Organizational And Leadership Skills: The Penn Museum Summer Camp Includes A Variety Of Activities And Programs, And The Counselor Should Be Able To Effectively Plan And Lead These Activities. Experience In A Leadership Role, Such As A Camp Counselor Or Team Captain, Is Preferred.

  • Availability During The Summer Months: The Summer Camp At The Penn Museum Runs For Several Weeks During The Summer, And The Counselor Should Be Available For The Entire Duration Of The Program. This May Include Weekends And Evenings For Special Events Or Overnight Camp Sessions. Flexibility And Availability During These Months Is Essential.
