- Oversee and manage all aspects of laboratory operations, including equipment maintenance, ordering and inventory management, and safety protocols.
- Develop and implement laboratory procedures and protocols to ensure efficient and effective use of resources.
- Train and supervise lab personnel, including students and research assistants, in laboratory techniques and protocols.
- Coordinate and schedule equipment usage and ensure proper maintenance and calibration.
- Ensure compliance with all safety regulations and protocols, including proper handling and disposal of hazardous materials.
- Maintain accurate records of lab activities, including data and inventory records.
- Collaborate with researchers and other team members to support ongoing projects and contribute to scientific discoveries.
- Continuously seek out and implement improvements to lab processes and procedures to increase efficiency and productivity.
- Communicate with vendors and negotiate contracts for supplies and equipment.
- Monitor and manage lab budget, including tracking expenses and preparing reports.
- Stay up-to-date with current research and technologies in the field and make recommendations for incorporating new techniques or equipment into the lab.
- Serve as a liaison between the lab and other departments, as well as external collaborators and partners.
- Manage and troubleshoot any technical issues that arise in the lab.
- Ensure compliance with all University policies and procedures related to laboratory management.
- Foster a positive and collaborative work environment, promoting teamwork and open communication among lab members.
Strong Organizational And Communication Skills
Bachelor's Degree In A Relevant Field (Such As Biology, Chemistry, Or Engineering)
Minimum Of 3-5 Years Of Experience In Laboratory Management Or Related Field
Experience With Budget Management And Procurement Processes
Knowledge Of Laboratory Safety Protocols And Ability To Maintain A Safe Working Environment For Staff And Students
