  1. Provide exceptional customer service to students and faculty at the information desk and departmental library.
  2. Assist in navigating and utilizing various resources and services offered by the university.
  3. Answer inquiries and provide information regarding university policies, procedures, and events.
  4. Maintain a positive and welcoming environment for all visitors and guests.
  5. Collaborate with staff to ensure efficient and effective operations of the information desk and departmental library.
  6. Handle and resolve any concerns or issues that may arise from students, faculty, or visitors.
  7. Maintain accurate records and databases related to information desk and departmental library usage.
  8. Assist with organizing and maintaining the departmental library collection.
  9. Perform administrative tasks such as scheduling, filing, and data entry.
  10. Continuously seek opportunities for improvement and suggest ways to enhance the information desk and departmental library services.
  11. Participate in training and development opportunities to broaden knowledge and skills.
  12. Adhere to university policies and procedures, as well as maintain confidentiality and professionalism at all times.

  • Strong Customer Service Skills: The Ideal Candidate For This Role Should Possess Excellent Interpersonal And Communication Skills To Effectively Interact With Patrons And Provide Them With Quality Service.

  • Familiarity With Library Systems And Resources: The Intern Should Have Experience Working With Library Systems And Databases, And Be Able To Assist Patrons With Finding And Accessing Resources.

  • Attention To Detail: The University Of Pennsylvania Values Accuracy And Attention To Detail, And The Intern Should Be Able To Handle Tasks Such As Shelving And Organizing Materials With Precision.
