- Oversee all aspects of research administration for the Surgery department, including budgeting, grant management, and compliance with institutional and federal regulations.
- Collaborate with surgeons and researchers to develop and implement research projects, ensuring that all necessary resources are in place and timelines are met.
- Manage the day-to-day operations of the Harrison Scholar program, including coordinating schedules, facilitating meetings, and providing administrative support.
- Conduct thorough and accurate research on funding opportunities and assist in the preparation of grant proposals and applications.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of grant expenditures and ensure compliance with reporting requirements.
- Serve as a liaison between the Surgery department and other departments, institutions, and funding agencies to facilitate collaborative research efforts.
- Develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders in the surgical research community to promote the University of Pennsylvania as a leader in the field.
- Continuously monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of research administration processes and make recommendations for improvements.
- Stay current with industry trends and best practices in research administration and implement new strategies as needed to enhance the efficiency and success of the program.
- Assist in the dissemination of research findings through presentations, publications, and other communication channels.

A Minimum Of A Bachelor's Degree In A Relevant Field Such As Healthcare Administration, Business Administration, Or Public Health.
Previous Experience Working In A Research Administration Role, Preferably In A Surgical Research Setting.
Strong Knowledge Of Federal Regulations And Grant Management Procedures Related To Research Funding.
Excellent Organizational And Project Management Skills, With The Ability To Handle Multiple Tasks And Deadlines Simultaneously.
