- Oversee all operations and activities of the SAS- Earth & Environmental Science department.
- Develop and implement strategic plans to support the department's mission and goals.
- Manage and allocate department resources, including budget and staffing, to ensure efficient and effective operations.
- Collaborate with faculty and staff to develop and implement educational programs and research initiatives.
- Monitor and evaluate department performance, making recommendations for improvement as needed.
- Foster a positive and inclusive work environment that values diversity and promotes teamwork.
- Provide guidance and support to faculty, staff, and students in matters related to the department.
- Serve as a liaison between the department and other university departments, external organizations, and stakeholders.
- Stay current with advancements and trends in Earth and Environmental Sciences to ensure the department's curriculum and research remain relevant and innovative.
- Participate in recruitment and retention efforts for faculty, staff, and students.
- Oversee the department's compliance with university policies and procedures.
- Represent the department and the university at conferences, events, and other professional engagements.
- Develop and maintain relationships with alumni, donors, and other key stakeholders to support departmental initiatives.
- Ensure the department's adherence to ethical and legal standards in all activities.
- Conduct performance evaluations and provide professional development opportunities for staff.
- Stay informed on industry best practices and implement them within the department.
- Continuously seek opportunities for growth and improvement for the department.
- Handle any other duties as assigned by the university.
Minimum Of A Master's Degree In Earth & Environmental Science Or A Related Field
At Least 5 Years Of Experience In A Leadership Or Management Role In A Scientific Or Academic Setting
Strong Knowledge And Understanding Of Current Trends And Developments In The Field Of Earth & Environmental Science
Excellent Communication And Interpersonal Skills, With The Ability To Effectively Collaborate With Faculty, Staff, And Students
