Job Description

The University of Pennsylvania is seeking a reliable and customer-service oriented individual to join our team as a Customer Service Ice Rink Attendant. In this role, you will have the opportunity to interact with our diverse community and ensure a safe and enjoyable experience for all ice rink visitors. We are looking for someone who is enthusiastic, organized, and has a strong attention to detail.   1. Greet and welcome ice rink visitors in a friendly and professional manner.
  2. Maintain a safe and clean environment for all visitors by regularly monitoring and inspecting the ice rink.
  3. Provide excellent customer service by answering questions, providing information, and addressing any concerns or issues that may arise.
  4. Ensure all visitors adhere to safety rules and regulations while on the ice rink.
  5. Assist with the rental and return of ice skates, ensuring proper fit and sanitation.
  6. Handle cash and credit card transactions accurately and efficiently.
  7. Monitor the ice rink schedule and enforce time limits for each session.
  8. Keep accurate records of ice rink attendance and skate rentals.
  9. Assist with organizing and conducting special events or promotions at the ice rink.
  10. Work collaboratively with other ice rink attendants and staff to maintain a positive and productive work environment.
  11. Continuously strive to improve the overall customer experience by seeking feedback and implementing suggestions.
  12. Adhere to all university policies and procedures, including those related to safety and customer service.
  13. Attend trainings and meetings as required.
  14. Perform other duties as assigned by the ice rink manager.

Job Qualifications
  • Skating Experience: A Customer Service Ice Rink Attendant At University Of Pennsylvania Should Have A Strong Background In Skating And Be Able To Demonstrate Proficiency On The Ice. This Will Allow The Attendant To Provide Assistance To Customers And Ensure Their Safety While Using The Rink.

  • Customer Service Skills: As The Primary Point Of Contact For Customers At The Ice Rink, The Attendant Should Possess Excellent Customer Service Skills. This Includes Being Friendly, Approachable, And Able To Handle Customer Inquiries And Complaints In A Professional Manner.

  • First Aid And Cpr Certification: In Case Of Any Accidents Or Emergencies On The Ice, A Customer Service Ice Rink Attendant Should Be Trained In First Aid And Cpr. This Will Allow Them To Provide Immediate Assistance And Potentially Save Lives.

  • Physical Fitness: This Position Requires Standing For Long Periods Of Time And Being Able To Skate For Extended Periods. Therefore, The Ideal Candidate Should Be Physically Fit And Able To Handle The Physical Demands Of The Job.

  • Knowledge Of Ice Rink Operations: The Attendant Should Have A Good Understanding Of How Ice Rinks Operate, Including Basic Maintenance, Safety Protocols, And Equipment Usage. This Will Ensure The Smooth And Safe Operation Of The Rink For Customers.
