- Develop and implement long-term strategic plans for the management and maintenance of the university's facilities and spaces.
- Oversee the planning, design, and construction of new facilities and renovations, ensuring they align with the university's mission and goals.
- Manage the budget and resources for the department, including identifying areas for cost savings and efficiency improvements.
- Collaborate with other university departments and external partners to ensure the integration of facilities and spaces with academic and administrative needs.
- Lead and mentor a team of facilities and space management professionals, providing guidance and support for their professional development.
- Develop and implement sustainable practices for the management and maintenance of facilities, including energy efficiency, waste reduction, and green building initiatives.
- Ensure compliance with all building codes, safety regulations, and accessibility standards.
- Monitor and evaluate the condition of university facilities and identify areas for improvement or repair.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with vendors, contractors, and other external partners to ensure timely and quality services.
- Stay abreast of industry trends and best practices in facilities management, and make recommendations for improvements and advancements.
- Serve as a liaison between the university community and the facilities management department, addressing any concerns or issues that may arise.
- Communicate regularly with university leadership and stakeholders to provide updates on the status of facilities and space management initiatives.
- Champion diversity, equity, and inclusion in all aspects of facilities management, ensuring that the physical environment of the university is welcoming and accessible to all members of the community.
- Adhere to all university policies and procedures, as well as local, state, and federal regulations related to facilities and space management.
- Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned by university leadership.
Bachelor's Or Master's Degree In Engineering, Architecture, Or Related Field
Minimum Of 10 Years Experience In Facilities Management, With At Least 5 Years In A Leadership Role
Strong Knowledge Of Building Codes, Safety Regulations, And Sustainability Practices
Demonstrated Experience In Budget Management, Strategic Planning, And Project Management
Excellent Communication And Interpersonal Skills, With The Ability To Work Collaboratively With Diverse Stakeholders And Teams.
