As an Academic Advisor/Counselor, you will play a critical role in providing guidance and support to students throughout their academic journey. We are looking for a candidate who is dedicated, empathetic, and knowledgeable about academic programs and university policies.   1. Provide academic advising and counseling services to students, including course selection, degree planning, and academic progress tracking.
  2. Assist students in developing academic goals and creating individualized academic plans.
  3. Stay knowledgeable about academic programs, university policies, and resources to effectively guide students.
  4. Collaborate with faculty and staff to ensure students are meeting program requirements and resolving any academic concerns.
  5. Maintain accurate and updated student records and documentation of advising sessions.
  6. Monitor and track student academic progress and intervene as needed to address any issues.
  7. Identify and refer students to appropriate support services, such as tutoring, career counseling, and mental health resources.
  8. Foster a welcoming and inclusive environment for students from diverse backgrounds and experiences.
  9. Participate in campus events and workshops to promote academic success and assist with recruitment and retention efforts.
  10. Keep up-to-date with industry trends and best practices in academic advising and counseling.
  11. Act as a liaison between students and other university departments, such as admissions, financial aid, and registrar.
  12. Maintain confidentiality and adhere to ethical standards in all interactions with students.
  13. Maintain a caseload of students and meet with students on a regular basis to provide ongoing support and guidance.
  14. Assist with the development and implementation of academic support programs and initiatives.
  15. Other duties as assigned by supervisor.

Job Qualifications
  • A Minimum Of A Master's Degree In Counseling, Education, Or A Related Field.

  • Previous Experience In Academic Advising Or Counseling At The University Level.

  • Knowledge Of University Policies And Procedures, Including Degree Requirements And Academic Resources.

  • Strong Communication And Interpersonal Skills, With The Ability To Work With Diverse Student Populations.

  • Familiarity With Career Development And Academic Planning Tools, Such As Degree Audits And Academic Plans.
