- Develop and implement comprehensive training programs for the wheelchair tennis team, focusing on both physical and mental aspects of the sport.
- Recruit and retain top talent by actively seeking out and evaluating potential student athletes, and building relationships with them and their families.
- Provide mentorship and guidance to student athletes, helping them to develop their skills, reach their full potential, and successfully balance athletics with academics.
- Create a positive and inclusive team culture, promoting teamwork, sportsmanship, and respect among team members.
- Collaborate with other coaches and staff to ensure a well-rounded and successful experience for student athletes.
- Monitor and track the academic progress and well-being of student athletes, providing support and resources as needed.
- Develop and maintain relationships with local and national wheelchair tennis organizations, creating opportunities for competition and exposure for the team.
- Manage program budget and resources, making strategic decisions to support the success of the team.
- Act as a representative of the University of Michigan, promoting the program and advocating for the needs of student athletes.
- Continuously seek out opportunities for personal and professional development, staying up-to-date with the latest techniques and strategies in wheelchair tennis coaching.
Extensive Knowledge And Experience In Wheelchair Tennis: The Ideal Candidate Should Have A Deep Understanding Of The Rules, Techniques, And Strategies Of Wheelchair Tennis. They Should Also Have A Proven Track Record Of Coaching At Various Levels, Including Collegiate Or Professional.
Strong Communication And Leadership Skills: As The Head Coach, The Individual Will Be Responsible For Leading And Coordinating The Entire Wheelchair Tennis Program. They Should Possess Excellent Communication Skills To Effectively Communicate With Players, Staff, And Other Stakeholders.
