
Extension Specialist - Statewide Program Leader

- Lead and develop statewide programs: Take charge of creating, implementing, and managing programs that address pressing issues in our community.
- Collaborate with county-based extension staff and faculty: Work closely with colleagues to ensure a cohesive and successful approach to program development and implementation.
- Identify critical issues: Conduct research and gather information to identify the most pressing issues facing our community.
- Develop strategies: Use your expertise to develop effective strategies for addressing these issues through community outreach and education.
- Provide guidance and support: Offer guidance and support to county-based staff and faculty to ensure the success of programs.
- Foster positive relationships: Build and maintain positive relationships with community stakeholders, partners, and collaborators to enhance the impact of programs.
- Stay current with trends and best practices: Stay up-to-date with the latest trends and best practices in community outreach and education to continuously improve program effectiveness.
- Lead and inspire a team: Lead a team of extension professionals and provide mentorship and support to encourage their growth and development.
- Monitor and evaluate program impact: Develop metrics to measure the impact of programs and regularly evaluate their effectiveness.
- Promote positive change: Use your passion for community outreach to promote positive change and make a meaningful difference in people's lives.
- Represent the university: Serve as a representative of the university and promote its mission and values through community engagement and outreach efforts.
- Collaborate with university departments: Work with other university departments and stakeholders to identify opportunities for collaboration and resource sharing.
Advanced Degree: A Minimum Of A Master's Degree, Preferably In A Relevant Field Such As Agriculture, Education, Or Public Administration, Is Required For This Position.
Extension Experience: Candidates Should Have A Minimum Of 5 Years Of Experience Working In Extension Programs, Preferably At A Statewide Or Regional Level, With A Proven Track Record Of Successful Program Leadership.
Knowledge Of Current Issues: The Ideal Candidate Will Have A Thorough Understanding Of The Current Issues And Challenges Facing The State Of Delaware, Particularly In Areas Related To Agriculture, Community Development, And Youth Development.
Leadership And Management Skills: This Position Requires Strong Leadership And Management Abilities, Including The Ability To Develop And Implement Strategic Plans, Manage Budgets, And Supervise Staff And Volunteers.
Communication And Collaboration: Excellent Communication Skills, Both Written And Verbal, Are Essential For This Position, As Well As The Ability To Collaborate Effectively With Diverse Stakeholders, Including Community Members, Government Agencies, And University Faculty And Staff.
