We are currently seeking a highly skilled and motivated Coastal and Mapping Geologist to join our team and contribute to our research and teaching efforts.   1. Conduct research and studies on coastal environments to further understanding of geological processes.
  2. Utilize advanced mapping techniques to accurately document and analyze coastal features and changes.
  3. Collaborate with other team members to design and implement research projects related to coastal geology.
  4. Collect and analyze data from fieldwork, lab experiments, and other sources to draw conclusions and make recommendations.
  5. Contribute to the teaching efforts of the Department by developing and delivering courses on coastal geology and mapping.
  6. Stay current with advancements and developments in the field of coastal geology and mapping, and incorporate new techniques and technologies into research and teaching.
  7. Contribute to the preparation and publication of research findings in academic journals and other publications.
  8. Interact with colleagues, students, and other professionals to exchange knowledge, ideas, and techniques related to coastal geology and mapping.
  9. Serve as a mentor to graduate and undergraduate students, providing guidance and support for their research and academic pursuits.
  10. Represent the Department and the University at conferences, workshops, and other professional events related to coastal geology and mapping.
  11. Maintain and organize research equipment and supplies, ensuring their proper use and functionality.
  12. Promote a safe and inclusive work environment that values diversity and encourages collaboration and teamwork.
  13. Foster relationships with community partners, government agencies, and other organizations to enhance the Department's research and teaching efforts.
  14. Assist with grant proposals and fundraising initiatives to secure funding for research projects and equipment.
  15. Continuously evaluate and improve research and teaching methods to enhance the Department's reputation and impact in the field of geology.

Job Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Or Higher Degree In Geology, Coastal Science, Or Related Field.

  • Minimum Of 3 Years Of Experience In Coastal And Mapping Geology, Preferably In A Research Or Academic Setting.

  • Knowledge Of Advanced Geospatial Technologies And Software, Such As Gis, Remote Sensing, And Mapping Tools.

  • Experience With Field Data Collection And Analysis, Including Sediment Sampling And Beach Profiling.

  • Strong Written And Verbal Communication Skills, With The Ability To Present Research Findings To Both Scientific And Non-Scientific Audiences.
