  1. Develop and lead the Genomics and Bioinformatics Cluster at the University of Central Florida.
  2. Design and teach courses related to genomics and bioinformatics at the undergraduate and graduate level.
  3. Conduct cutting-edge research in the field of genomics and bioinformatics.
  4. Mentor and advise students in the Cluster, guiding them in their academic and research pursuits.
  5. Collaborate with other faculty members and researchers to foster a collaborative and innovative environment.
  6. Participate in departmental and university committees and activities.
  7. Establish and maintain relationships with industry partners and stakeholders.
  8. Seek out and secure external funding opportunities for research and program development.
  9. Stay current with advancements and developments in the field of genomics and bioinformatics.
  10. Demonstrate a commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion in all aspects of teaching, research, and leadership.
  11. Engage in professional development activities to enhance teaching, research, and leadership skills.
  12. Represent the Genomics and Bioinformatics Cluster at conferences and other academic events.
  13. Serve as a role model and leader for students, faculty, and staff within the Cluster and the university.
  14. Uphold and promote the mission and values of the University of Central Florida.
  15. Collaborate with other departments and programs to foster interdisciplinary research and teaching opportunities.

Job Qualifications
  • Phd In Genomics, Bioinformatics, Or A Related Field: The Ideal Candidate For This Position Should Possess A Doctoral Degree In A Relevant Field, As It Demonstrates A Strong Foundation Of Knowledge And Expertise In The Field Of Genomics And Bioinformatics.

  • Extensive Research Experience: As A Professor And Cluster Lead, The Individual Will Be Expected To Conduct And Oversee Research Projects Within The Genomics And Bioinformatics Cluster. Therefore, They Should Have A Proven Track Record Of Conducting High-Quality Research And Securing Grants And Funding For Their Research Projects.

  • Teaching Experience: This Position Will Involve Teaching Courses In Genomics And Bioinformatics At The Undergraduate And Graduate Levels. Therefore, The Candidate Should Have Previous Experience Teaching These Subjects And A Passion For Mentoring And Educating Students.

  • Leadership Skills: The Individual Selected For This Position Will Be Responsible For Leading And Managing The Genomics And Bioinformatics Cluster. They Should Have Strong Leadership Skills, Including The Ability To Develop And Implement Strategic Plans, Manage Budgets, And Foster A Collaborative And Inclusive Work Environment.

  • Strong Communication And Interpersonal Skills: As A Cluster Lead, The Individual Will Be Expected To Collaborate And Communicate Effectively With Other Faculty Members, Students, And External Stakeholders. Therefore, Excellent Communication And Interpersonal Skills Are Essential For Success In This Role.
