Job Description

Welcome to the Virtual and Augmented Reality Group at the University of Central Florida! We are currently seeking highly motivated individuals to join our team as Assistant or Associate Professors. As a member of our dynamic and innovative group, you will have the opportunity to contribute to cutting-edge research and educate the next generation of leaders in the rapidly growing fields of virtual and augmented reality.   1. Conduct research in the field of virtual and augmented reality, specifically in areas such as immersive technologies, human-computer interaction, and computer graphics.
  2. Teach undergraduate and graduate courses related to virtual and augmented reality, such as introductory courses, advanced seminars, and specialized electives.
  3. Supervise and mentor graduate students in their research projects and theses.
  4. Collaborate with other faculty members and researchers within the group and across departments to develop and lead interdisciplinary research projects.
  5. Publish high-quality research papers and secure research funding through grants and contracts.
  6. Participate in professional conferences, workshops, and other events to present research findings and stay up-to-date with advancements in the field.
  7. Develop and maintain partnerships with industry and other external organizations to promote research collaborations and opportunities for students.
  8. Assist in the development and implementation of new virtual and augmented reality courses or programs.
  9. Participate in departmental and university service, such as serving on committees and advising students.
  10. Continuously seek opportunities to enhance teaching and research skills through professional development and training.
  11. Contribute to the overall growth and success of the Virtual and Augmented Reality Group at the University of Central Florida.
  12. Uphold the values and standards of the university and promote a diverse and inclusive learning environment.

Job Qualifications
  • A Ph.d. In Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Or A Related Field With A Focus On Virtual And Augmented Reality Technologies.

  • Demonstrated Expertise In Developing And Teaching Courses Related To Virtual And Augmented Reality, Such As Computer Graphics, Human-Computer Interaction, And Game Development.

  • Proven Research Track Record In Virtual And Augmented Reality, Including Publications In Top-Tier Conferences And Journals.

  • Experience Securing External Funding For Research Projects In Virtual And Augmented Reality.

  • Strong Communication And Collaboration Skills, As Well As A Commitment To Fostering A Diverse And Inclusive Learning Environment For Students.
