Job Description

The University of California, Riverside is seeking a Theater Production Specialist to bring their expertise in theater production to our campus. In this role, you will be responsible for providing technical support for theater production activities and events.We are looking for an individual with a positive attitude and strong technical background. The ideal candidate will have a background in theater production, including experience with rigging, lighting, sound, and video systems. They should also have excellent communication and problem-solving skills, as well as the ability to work independently and in teams.This is an excellent opportunity for someone who is passionate about theater production and wants to contribute to the success of our vibrant theater program at the University of California, Riverside.

Responsibilities:

  1. Provide technical support for theater production activities and events.
  2. Install, operate, and maintain rigging, lighting, sound, and video systems as necessary.
  3. Troubleshoot and solve technical issues that arise during theater productions.
  4. Collaborate with theater production staff to ensure successful productions.
  5. Develop and maintain relationships with vendors and suppliers to ensure proper equipment and materials are available for productions.
  6. Stay up-to-date on current industry trends and practices.
  7. Manage the scheduling of theater production activities and events.
  8. Mentor and train theater production staff in proper technical operations.
  9. Create and implement safety protocols and procedures.
  10. Develop and maintain an inventory of theater production equipment.
