Job Description

We are seeking an enthusiastic, organized, and motivated Outdoor Excursions Program Coordinator to join the University of California, Riverside (UCR) team. This position requires a passion for outdoor recreation and will be responsible for planning, organizing, and leading university outdoor excursions. The ideal candidate should possess excellent interpersonal and communication skills, as well as experience in leading outdoor activities and working with diverse groups of people. The Coordinator should have strong organizational skills, be detail-oriented, and be able to work independently. If you have a passion for leading outdoor excursions and enjoy helping others grow in their outdoor recreation activities, this is the job for you!

Responsibilities:

  1. Develop and implement a comprehensive outdoor excursion program for the UCR community.
  2. Plan and organize outdoor excursions, including managing the logistics of transportation, lodging, and equipment.
  3. Lead outdoor activities while ensuring the safety and wellbeing of participants.
  4. Maintain and update records related to the outdoor excursion program, such as participant information and activity logs.
  5. Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of the outdoor excursion program and suggest necessary changes and improvements.
  6. Promote the outdoor excursion program to the UCR community, and recruit and train volunteers to assist with program activities.
  7. Collaborate with UCR departments and external vendors to coordinate outdoor activities and obtain necessary supplies.
  8. Develop and manage the program budget to ensure cost-effectiveness.
  9. Respond to inquiries and complaints from participants, and provide customer service as needed.
