Makers Space Manager

The University of California, Riverside is looking for an experienced and organized Makerspace Manager to join our team! The ideal candidate will have extensive knowledge of 3-D printing and other digital fabrication technologies, as well as a passion for helping students and faculty explore their creativity. The Makerspace Manager will be responsible for ensuring that the Makerspace is a safe and welcoming environment for students and faculty to explore and develop their creative projects. In this role, you will have the opportunity to develop innovative programming, facilitate workshops, and mentor students in the use of cutting-edge technologies. The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field, such as engineering, technology, or design, and a minimum of two years of experience managing a Makerspace or similar learning environment. You should have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, as well as the ability to think creatively and problem solve. Experience with 3-D printing and other digital fabrication technologies is essential for this role.

Responsibilities:

1. Manage the University of California, Riverside Makerspace in a safe and welcoming environment for students and faculty.
2. Develop innovative programming and facilitate workshops for students and faculty.
3. Mentor students in the use of cutting-edge technologies.
4. Monitor and maintain the equipment and space in the Makerspace.
5. Work with other staff members to plan and implement special projects and programs.
6. Assist in the planning and budgeting for the Makerspace.
7. Analyze usage data and other metrics to improve programming and the overall Makerspace experience.
8. Troubleshoot technical issues with 3-D printing and other digital fabrication technologies.
9. Demonstrate expertise in 3-D printing and other digital fabrication technologies.
10. Ensure compliance with relevant regulations and safety standards.
