
Financial Aid Counselor
The University of California, Riverside is looking for an experienced and talented Financial Aid Counselor to join our team. This individual will serve as a valuable resource to students in navigating the financial aid process. The successful candidate will have a good understanding of the principles of financial aid, be able to identify and address students’ financial needs, and possess excellent communication and customer service skills. If you are highly motivated, detail-oriented, and have a passion for helping students make their higher education dreams reality, this could be the perfect role for you!Qualifications:• Bachelor’s degree required• At least two years of experience in financial aid/student services• Knowledge of federal, state, and institutional financial aid programs• Ability to work with diverse student populations and maintain a high level of confidentiality• Excellent customer service and communication (verbal and written) skills• Detail-oriented and able to handle multiple tasks simultaneously• Must be able to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team
Responsibilities:
• Provide individual counseling to students and their families regarding the financial aid process. • Evaluate student financial aid applications and determine a student’s eligibility for financial aid. • Develop and implement financial aid presentations to students and their families. • Remain current on federal, state, and institutional financial aid regulations. • Assist with the administration of the financial aid program, including maintaining accurate records, tracking student progress, and ensuring compliance with all regulations. • Collaborate with other university offices to provide resources and support to students. • Monitor student accounts to ensure accurate and timely disbursement of financial aid. • Respond to customer inquiries in a timely and professional manner. • Provide guidance and support to students to ensure successful completion of financial aid process.
