Job Description

The University of California, Riverside is looking for an experienced and dynamic Advocacy & Community Engagement Manager to join its External Relations team. As a key member of the team, you will be responsible for leading the university’s efforts to create and implement a comprehensive advocacy and community engagement strategy.We are looking for an individual who is driven, organized, and experienced in building meaningful relationships. To be successful in this role, you should have a strong understanding of government relations, community outreach, and higher education policy. Responsibilities:

  1. Develop and implement a comprehensive advocacy and community engagement strategy for the University of California, Riverside.
  2. Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders to amplify the University’s community engagement efforts.
  3. Monitor and stay up to date on higher education policy, trends, and changes.
  4. Work independently and as part of the External Relations team to execute advocacy and community engagement initiatives.
  5. Provide guidance and support to underrepresented communities to help expand access to higher education.
  6. Ensure that all initiatives align with the University's commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion.
  7. Prepare and present reports and presentations on the progress and effectiveness of advocacy and community engagement initiatives.
  8. Develop and manage budgets for advocacy and community engagement activities.
