Job Description

The University of California, Riverside is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Acquisitions Unit Supervisor to join our team. This position requires a detail-oriented individual with exceptional communication and organizational skills who will be able to effectively lead and mentor a team of acquisitions personnel. The successful candidate will be responsible for the day-to-day operations of the acquisitions unit, including overseeing the acquisition of library materials and ensuring compliance with library policies and procedures. To be successful in this role, the successful candidate must have a strong understanding of library acquisitions processes and procedures, excellent communication skills, and the ability to manage a large team of acquisitions personnel. Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the day-to-day operations of the acquisitions unit, including acquisition of library materials
  • Ensure compliance with library policies and procedures
  • Lead and mentor a team of acquisitions personnel
  • Develop and enforce acquisitions unit policies and procedures
  • Monitor and review team performance to ensure operational goals are met
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues in a timely and efficient manner
  • Create and implement strategies to improve workflow and efficiency
  • Monitor costs and budgets to ensure financial goals are met
  • Prepare reports and presentations to communicate progress and results
  • Liaise with internal and external stakeholders as necessary
  • Remain up-to-date with industry trends and best practices
