  1. Conduct comprehensive speech and language evaluations to assess and diagnose communication disorders in university students.
  2. Develop and implement individualized treatment plans to address speech and language disorders, taking into account the specific needs and goals of each student.
  3. Provide evidence-based speech therapy services to students in both individual and group settings, utilizing a variety of therapy techniques and modalities.
  4. Collaborate with other members of the university's multidisciplinary team, including teachers, counselors, and administrators, to ensure a holistic approach to student care.
  5. Monitor and track student progress, making necessary adjustments to treatment plans as needed to ensure optimal outcomes.
  6. Educate and involve family members and caregivers in the treatment process, providing them with strategies and resources to support their loved one's communication development.
  7. Stay current with advancements in the field of speech pathology and implement new techniques and technologies into therapy sessions as appropriate.
  8. Maintain accurate and organized documentation of all therapy sessions and student progress, as well as any necessary reports and evaluations.
  9. Adhere to all ethical and professional standards set forth by the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA) and other governing bodies.
  10. Participate in ongoing professional development and training opportunities to enhance skills and knowledge in the field of speech pathology.
  11. Act as an advocate for students with communication disorders, promoting awareness and understanding of speech and language disorders within the university community.
  12. Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment for students of diverse backgrounds and abilities.
  13. Serve as a resource and mentor for students pursuing a career in speech pathology, providing guidance and support as needed.
  14. Continuously assess and evaluate the effectiveness of speech therapy services and make recommendations for improvements or changes as needed.
  15. Embody the mission and values of the University of California-Irvine, promoting a culture of excellence and inclusivity in all interactions with students, colleagues, and the broader community.

Job Qualifications
  • Master's Degree In Speech-Language Pathology: A Minimum Of A Master's Degree In Speech-Language Pathology Or A Related Field Is Required For This Position. This Ensures That The Applicant Has A Strong Foundation In The Principles And Techniques Of Speech Therapy.
