- Maintain accurate and detailed patient records, including treatment plans, progress notes, and radiation dosages.
- Collaborate with radiation oncologists and other healthcare team members to develop and implement individualized treatment plans for patients.
- Operate and maintain radiation therapy equipment, ensuring proper functioning and safety measures are followed.
- Educate and prepare patients for radiation therapy treatments, including explaining procedures, potential side effects, and safety precautions.
- Provide emotional support and reassurance to patients throughout their treatment process.
- Lead and train junior radiation therapy technicians, providing guidance and support as needed.
- Participate in research initiatives and clinical trials related to radiation therapy, including collecting and analyzing data.
- Stay current on advancements and best practices in radiation therapy through continuing education and professional development opportunities.
- Adhere to all safety protocols and regulations to maintain a safe working environment for patients and staff.
- Collaborate with other departments and healthcare professionals to ensure coordinated and comprehensive patient care.
- Maintain confidentiality of patient information and adhere to HIPAA regulations.
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members to ensure a positive and productive work environment.
- Attend departmental meetings and provide input on improvements and updates to radiation therapy processes.
Bachelor's Degree In Radiation Therapy Or Related Field From An Accredited Institution.
Current Certification From The American Registry Of Radiologic Technologists (Arrt) In Radiation Therapy.
Minimum Of 3-5 Years Of Experience As A Radiation Therapy Technician, Preferably In An Academic Or Research Setting.
Demonstrated Ability To Operate And Maintain Advanced Radiation Therapy Equipment, Including Linear Accelerators And Treatment Planning Systems.
Strong Knowledge Of Radiation Safety Protocols And Regulations, And Experience In Monitoring And Ensuring Compliance.
