  1. Provide direct patient care: The Hospital Physician Assistant will be responsible for providing direct medical care to patients, including conducting physical exams, diagnosing and treating medical conditions, ordering and interpreting diagnostic tests, and prescribing medications.
  2. Collaborate with healthcare team: The incumbent will work closely with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement treatment plans for patients. They will also communicate and consult with other specialists as needed.
  3. Maintain accurate medical records: The Hospital Physician Assistant will be responsible for maintaining accurate and up-to-date medical records for each patient, including progress notes, treatment plans, and medication records.
  4. Educate patients and families: The incumbent will play a crucial role in educating patients and their families about their medical conditions, treatment options, and preventive measures.
  5. Adhere to hospital policies and procedures: The Hospital Physician Assistant will follow all hospital policies and procedures, including infection control, safety regulations, and documentation guidelines, to ensure the highest quality of care.
  6. Stay current with medical advancements: The incumbent will stay up-to-date with the latest medical advancements, treatments, and technologies to provide the best possible care to patients.
  7. Participate in quality improvement initiatives: The Hospital Physician Assistant will actively participate in quality improvement initiatives, such as audits and performance improvement projects, to enhance patient care and outcomes.
  8. Adhere to ethical and legal standards: The incumbent will adhere to ethical and legal standards in all aspects of their work, including patient confidentiality, informed consent, and scope of practice.
  9. Attend departmental meetings and trainings: The Hospital Physician Assistant will attend departmental meetings and trainings to stay informed about hospital policies, procedures, and updates in the medical field.
  10. Maintain licensure and certifications: The incumbent will maintain a valid Physician Assistant license and any required certifications to practice in the state of California. They will also complete continuing education requirements to stay current with their profession.

Job Qualifications
  • Master's Degree In Physician Assistant Studies From An Accredited Program.

  • Current Certification From The National Commission On Certification Of Physician Assistants (Nccpa).

  • Minimum Of 2 Years Of Experience Working As A Physician Assistant In A Hospital Setting.

  • Active And Unrestricted License To Practice As A Physician Assistant In The State Of California.

  • Strong Knowledge Of Medical Procedures, Treatments, And Diagnostic Tests Commonly Used In A Hospital Setting.
