- Provide academic advising to students, including course selection, degree requirements, and academic planning.
- Assist students with career development, including resume and cover letter reviews, job search strategies, and networking opportunities.
- Offer personal counseling and support to students, including referrals to campus resources and services.
- Develop and maintain relationships with students to promote their academic and personal success.
- Stay current on university policies and procedures related to student services and communicate changes to students.
- Collaborate with other departments and individuals on campus to provide comprehensive support to students.
- Conduct outreach and programming to promote student services and resources.
- Keep accurate and confidential records of student interactions and progress.
- Utilize technology and data to track and assess student needs and outcomes.
- Attend trainings and professional development opportunities to enhance skills and knowledge.
- Serve as a resource and liaison for students, faculty, and staff on issues related to student services.
- Participate in recruitment and orientation activities for incoming students.
- Demonstrate a commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion in all aspects of the job.
- Adhere to ethical standards and maintain confidentiality in all student interactions.
- Other duties as assigned by supervisor.
Bachelor's Degree In A Relevant Field Such As Education, Counseling, Or Psychology.
Minimum Of 3-5 Years Of Experience In Student Services Or Advising At A Higher Education Institution.
Knowledge Of University Of California Policies And Procedures Related To Student Support Services.
Excellent Communication And Interpersonal Skills To Effectively Work With A Diverse Student Population.
Strong Organizational And Time-Management Skills To Manage A Caseload Of Students And Meet Deadlines.
