  1. Advise and assist students in navigating the academic and administrative processes at the University of California, Berkeley.
  2. Provide comprehensive and accurate information to students regarding university policies, procedures, and resources.
  3. Guide students in selecting appropriate courses and creating academic plans that align with their educational and career goals.
  4. Assist students in resolving academic and administrative issues, including but not limited to registration, enrollment, and financial aid.
  5. Conduct individual and group advising sessions to help students develop strategies for academic success and personal growth.
  6. Collaborate with faculty, staff, and other university departments to ensure that students receive timely and effective support services.
  7. Stay updated on university policies, procedures, and programs that impact student academic success and communicate changes to students as needed.
  8. Advocate for students' academic and personal needs, particularly those from underrepresented and marginalized backgrounds, to promote equity and inclusivity within the campus community.
  9. Maintain accurate and confidential student records, including advising notes and progress reports.
  10. Participate in professional development opportunities to enhance knowledge and skills related to student advising and support services.
  11. Assist with the planning and implementation of orientation and other campus events to welcome and support new and current students.
  12. Serve as a resource for students seeking information about internship, study abroad, and other experiential learning opportunities.
  13. Collaborate with other Student Services Advisors to develop and implement best practices for supporting students' academic success and personal growth.
  14. Contribute to the overall mission and goals of the University of California, Berkeley by promoting a positive and inclusive campus culture.

Job Qualifications
  • Minimum Of 3-5 Years Of Experience In Student Services Or Related Field At A College Or University.

  • Strong Knowledge Of University Policies And Procedures Related To Student Services, Including Admissions, Financial Aid, And Academic Advising.

  • Excellent Interpersonal And Communication Skills, With The Ability To Work Effectively With Diverse Student Populations And Collaborate With Various Campus Departments.

  • Demonstrated Experience In Providing Comprehensive Academic Advising And Support To Students, Including Developing And Implementing Academic Success Plans.

  • Bachelor's Degree In A Relevant Field, Such As Higher Education, Counseling, Or Student Affairs. A Master's Degree Is Preferred.
