- Ensure the safety and security of all members of the University community, including students, faculty, and staff.
- Develop and implement safety procedures and protocols to maintain a secure campus environment.
- Monitor campus activity and promptly respond to any potential safety issues or concerns.
- Collaborate with local law enforcement agencies to coordinate emergency responses and investigations.
- Conduct regular safety assessments and make recommendations for improvements as needed.
- Train and educate students, faculty, and staff on safety procedures and emergency response protocols.
- Assist with the development and implementation of emergency preparedness plans.
- Maintain accurate records of all safety incidents and report any significant incidents to appropriate authorities.
- Serve as a point of contact for safety-related concerns or questions from the University community.
- Stay up-to-date on relevant laws, regulations, and best practices related to campus safety.
- Establish and maintain positive relationships with community members and stakeholders to promote a safe and welcoming campus environment.
- Collaborate with campus departments and organizations to identify and address potential safety hazards or concerns.
- Serve as a role model and mentor for students, promoting responsible and safe behavior.
- Participate in departmental meetings and training sessions to stay informed about safety procedures and updates.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the University administration.
Knowledge Of Federal, State, And Local Laws And Regulations Related To Campus Safety And Security.
Bachelor's Degree In Criminal Justice, Public Safety, Or A Related Field.
Minimum Of 3 Years Of Experience In A Law Enforcement Or Public Safety Role.
Excellent Communication And Interpersonal Skills To Interact With Diverse Groups Of Students, Staff, And Faculty.
Ability To Work Flexible Hours, Including Nights And Weekends, And Respond To Emergency Situations.
