- Oversee the day-to-day operations of custodial staff to ensure that all campus facilities are maintained to the highest standards of cleanliness and hygiene.
- Develop and implement cleaning schedules, procedures, and protocols to maintain a safe and healthy environment for students, faculty, and staff.
- Manage and maintain custodial supplies and equipment, ensuring that they are in good working condition and properly utilized.
- Train and supervise custodial staff, providing guidance, support, and feedback to ensure that they are performing their duties effectively and efficiently.
- Conduct regular inspections of campus facilities to identify any areas that require additional attention and address any issues in a timely manner.
- Collaborate with other departments and stakeholders to coordinate cleaning and maintenance schedules for events and special projects.
- Monitor and maintain budget and expenses related to custodial operations, identifying cost-saving measures where possible.
- Ensure compliance with all safety regulations and protocols to maintain a healthy and hazard-free environment.
- Investigate and resolve any complaints or issues related to custodial services and take appropriate corrective actions.
- Stay current with industry trends and best practices to continuously improve custodial operations at the University of California, Berkeley.
Bachelor's Degree In Facilities Management, Business Administration, Or Related Field
Minimum Of 5 Years Of Experience In Custodial Operations, Preferably In A University Or Large Institutional Setting
Knowledge Of Industry Best Practices And Regulations Related To Custodial Operations, Including Osha Standards
Excellent Leadership And Communication Skills, With The Ability To Manage A Team Of Custodial Staff And Collaborate With Other Departments
Experience With Budget Management And Ability To Analyze Data And Make Strategic Decisions To Optimize Resources And Improve Efficiency.
