- Manage the recruitment, appointment, and advancement processes for faculty and academic staff at UC Berkeley.
- Ensure compliance with academic personnel policies and procedures.
- Serve as a primary point of contact for faculty and academic staff regarding personnel matters.
- Maintain accurate and updated personnel records for all faculty and academic staff.
- Collaborate with hiring managers and search committees to develop job postings and identify top candidates.
- Facilitate the onboarding process for new faculty and academic staff, including assisting with immigration and relocation processes.
- Provide guidance and support to academic units in the preparation and submission of appointment and promotion materials.
- Conduct salary and equity reviews for faculty and academic staff.
- Work closely with the Academic Personnel Office to ensure timely and accurate processing of personnel actions.
- Stay up-to-date on changes to academic personnel policies and procedures and communicate updates to relevant stakeholders.
- Maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion.
- Continuously assess and improve processes to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
- Participate in special projects and initiatives related to academic personnel as needed.
- Serve as a resource and provide training to academic units on academic personnel topics.
- Uphold the values and mission of UC Berkeley through all work and interactions.
Bachelor's Degree In Human Resources, Business Administration, Or A Related Field.
Strong Analytical And Problem-Solving Skills, With The Ability To Interpret And Apply Complex Policies And Regulations.
Minimum Of 2 Years Of Experience In Human Resources, Preferably In A Higher Education Or Academic Setting.
Knowledge Of University Of California Personnel Policies And Procedures.
Excellent Communication And Interpersonal Skills, With The Ability To Work Effectively With Diverse Stakeholders Including Faculty, Staff, And Students.
