- Develop and teach undergraduate and graduate level courses in the field of sociology, including designing course syllabi, preparing lectures, and creating assignments and exams.
- Provide mentorship and guidance to students, including advising on course selections, academic progress, and career opportunities in sociology.
- Conduct research and publish scholarly articles in the field of sociology, contributing to the department's reputation and advancement of knowledge in the field.
- Collaborate with faculty members to continuously improve and update course materials and curriculum to meet the changing needs and demands of the field of sociology.
- Participate in departmental and university committees and meetings, contributing to the ongoing development and improvement of the department and university.
- Engage in professional development activities, such as attending conferences and workshops, to stay current with developments in the field of sociology.
- Foster a welcoming and inclusive learning environment for all students, including those from diverse backgrounds and identities.
- Maintain regular office hours to provide support and guidance to students outside of class.
- Serve as a role model to students, demonstrating dedication to academic excellence, professionalism, and ethical behavior.
- Participate in community outreach and engagement activities to promote the department and university, as well as to contribute to the advancement of sociology in the local community.
- Collaborate with other faculty members to develop interdisciplinary courses and programs that integrate sociology with other fields of study.
- Adhere to all university and department policies and procedures, including those related to academic integrity, student confidentiality, and diversity and inclusion.
A Doctorate Degree In Sociology Or A Related Field From An Accredited University.
At Least 2 Years Of Experience Teaching Undergraduate Courses In Sociology.
Demonstrated Expertise In A Specific Area Of Sociology, Such As Social Inequality, Gender Studies, Or Social Research Methods.
Strong Communication And Interpersonal Skills, With The Ability To Effectively Engage And Motivate Students From Diverse Backgrounds.
Proven Ability To Contribute To The Academic Community Through Research, Publications, And Participation In Professional Conferences And Organizations.
