- Develop and implement an enterprise risk management framework and strategy for the university, in line with industry best practices and regulatory requirements.
- Identify potential risks and vulnerabilities across all areas of the institution, including academics, operations, finance, and reputation.
- Work closely with department heads and stakeholders to assess and prioritize risks, and develop mitigation plans.
- Conduct regular risk assessments and audits to monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of risk management processes.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with external partners and agencies to stay updated on industry trends and best practices.
- Provide guidance and support to departments in the development of risk management policies, procedures, and training programs.
- Collaborate with the legal department to ensure compliance with all relevant laws and regulations.
- Lead a team of risk management professionals, providing mentorship, guidance, and performance evaluations.
- Prepare and present reports on risk management activities and outcomes to senior leadership and the board of directors.
- Continuously monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of risk management strategies and make recommendations for improvements.
- Promote a culture of risk awareness and compliance throughout the university, through training and communication initiatives.
- Monitor and manage insurance policies and claims, ensuring appropriate coverage for potential risks.
- Develop and maintain emergency response plans and protocols to mitigate potential risks and ensure the safety of the university community.
- Stay updated on emerging risks and trends in the higher education industry, and make recommendations for proactive risk management strategies.
- Foster a collaborative and inclusive work environment within the risk management team.
Strong Leadership Skills With A Minimum Of 5 Years Experience In A Managerial Or Director Role In The Field Of Risk Management.
Thorough Understanding Of Enterprise Risk Management Principles And Practices, With A Minimum Of 7 Years Experience In Implementing And Maintaining Risk Management Programs.
Excellent Communication And Interpersonal Skills, With The Ability To Interact With Diverse Stakeholders Including Senior Leadership, Faculty, Staff, And Students.
Extensive Knowledge Of Federal, State, And Local Laws And Regulations Related To Risk Management In A Higher Education Setting.
Proven Track Record Of Successful Risk Assessment And Mitigation Strategies, Including Experience In Developing And Implementing Crisis Management Plans.
