We are currently seeking a Director of Construction & Design to join our team and oversee all aspects of our campus construction and renovation projects. As the Director, you will play a critical role in shaping the physical landscape of our university and creating an environment that promotes learning, innovation, and growth.   1. Oversee all campus construction and renovation projects from conception to completion, ensuring they are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.
  2. Develop and implement strategic plans for the design and construction of new buildings and the renovation of existing facilities.
  3. Collaborate with university leadership to understand their vision and goals for the campus and incorporate them into construction and design plans.
  4. Manage and coordinate all phases of the construction process, including planning, design, bidding, and construction.
  5. Ensure compliance with all applicable building codes, regulations, and safety standards.
  6. Hire, train, and manage a team of construction and design professionals, providing guidance and support as needed.
  7. Oversee the selection and management of contractors, architects, and other consultants involved in campus construction projects.
  8. Prepare and monitor project budgets, timelines, and progress reports.
  9. Conduct regular site visits and inspections to ensure work is being completed according to plans and specifications.
  10. Foster a collaborative and inclusive work environment, promoting teamwork and open communication among all project stakeholders.
  11. Stay current on industry trends and best practices in construction and design to continuously improve processes and outcomes.
  12. Represent the university in meetings and negotiations with contractors, architects, and other stakeholders.
  13. Serve as a liaison between the university and local government agencies for permitting and zoning processes.
  14. Ensure all construction and design projects align with the university's sustainability goals and initiatives.
  15. Maintain accurate and organized project records, including contracts, change orders, and progress reports.
  16. Uphold the university's mission and values in all interactions and decisions related to construction and design projects.

Job Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Or Master's Degree In Construction Management, Architecture, Engineering, Or Related Field.

  • Minimum Of 7-10 Years Of Experience In Construction And Design Management, Preferably In A University Or Large-Scale Organization.

  • Strong Project Management Skills, Including Budgeting, Scheduling, And Risk Management.

  • Extensive Knowledge Of Construction Codes, Regulations, And Industry Standards.

  • Excellent Communication And Interpersonal Skills, With The Ability To Collaborate With A Diverse Team And Stakeholders.
