Job Description

Performs field sampling and conducts laboratory experiments and processing of environmental samples as needed using knowledge in environmental microbiology techniques. Perform laboratory experiments and assays including the identification of bacterial indicators and pathogens from various environmental samples. Perform laboratory experiments including evaluating the effectiveness of disinfectants on bacterial using cultural techniques. Supervise undergraduate student workers involved in these studies. Maintain detailed records on the results of the tests/experiments conducted.

  • Experience in conducting antimicrobial efficacy experiments.

  • Experience in the microbiological concentration, processing, recovery, and detection of microorganisms from environmental samples.
