  1. Teach courses in Spanish and/or Portuguese to undergraduate and graduate students.
  2. Develop and implement effective instructional strategies and materials that engage students and foster critical thinking.
  3. Create a positive and inclusive learning environment for students from diverse backgrounds.
  4. Serve as an academic advisor to students and provide guidance on course selection and academic progress.
  5. Participate in curriculum development and assessment processes to ensure the quality and relevance of the program.
  6. Conduct scholarly research and publish in relevant academic journals.
  7. Collaborate with other faculty members and contribute to departmental and university committees and initiatives.
  8. Engage in professional development activities to enhance teaching and research skills.
  9. Actively participate in recruitment and retention efforts for the Spanish and Portuguese program.
  10. Provide mentorship and guidance to graduate students.
  11. Maintain a strong commitment to the university's mission and values.
  12. Represent the university and the Spanish and Portuguese program to external stakeholders.
  13. Comply with university policies and procedures.
  14. Continuously evaluate and improve teaching methods and materials to enhance student learning and engagement.
  15. Attend and present at conferences and workshops to stay current in the field of language and culture education.

Job Qualifications
  • A Phd In Spanish Or Portuguese Language, Literature, Or Related Field.

  • Demonstrated Teaching Experience At The University Level, Preferably In Spanish And/Or Portuguese Language Courses.

  • Native Or Near-Native Proficiency In Both Spanish And Portuguese.

  • A Strong Commitment To Promoting Diversity And Inclusion In The Classroom And On Campus.

  • Evidence Of Scholarly Or Creative Activity In The Field Of Spanish And/Or Portuguese, Such As Publications, Presentations, Or Participation In Professional Organizations.
