- Develop and implement comprehensive educational programs for expectant mothers and their families, covering topics such as prenatal care, labor and delivery, postpartum care, and newborn care.
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure consistency and alignment of educational materials and practices.
- Conduct one-on-one and group education sessions with patients and their families, utilizing a variety of teaching methods and resources.
- Stay up-to-date on the latest obstetric practices, procedures, and research to ensure the most accurate and relevant information is being provided to patients.
- Assess the educational needs of patients and families and tailor educational materials and sessions accordingly.
- Serve as a resource and mentor to other healthcare staff, providing guidance and support on women's and children's health topics.
- Develop and maintain relationships with community organizations and resources to expand the reach and impact of educational programs.
- Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of educational programs and make adjustments as needed to meet the needs of patients and families.
- Maintain accurate records of educational sessions and patient progress.
- Adhere to all healthcare organization policies, procedures, and ethical standards.
- Continuously seek opportunities for professional development and growth to enhance knowledge and skills related to obstetric education.
- Serve as an advocate for women's and children's health, promoting the organization's mission and values to patients, families, and the community.
- Collaborate with other departments and teams within the organization to ensure a seamless and coordinated approach to patient care.
- Maintain confidentiality and uphold patient privacy at all times.
- Participate in departmental meetings and contribute ideas for improving patient education and overall patient experience.
Degree In Nursing Or Related Healthcare Field: A Women & Children's Ob Educator At Universal Health Services Should Possess At Least A Bachelor's Degree In Nursing Or A Related Healthcare Field Such As Maternal-Child Health Or Obstetrics And Gynecology.
Experience In Maternal And Child Health Education: Candidates For This Position Should Have A Minimum Of 3-5 Years Of Experience In Educating Women And Children On Topics Related To Pregnancy, Childbirth, And Postpartum Care.
Strong Communication And Teaching Skills: Effective Communication And Teaching Skills Are Essential For This Role, As The Women & Children's Ob Educator Will Be Responsible For Delivering Educational Programs And Training Sessions To A Diverse Audience Of Patients, Families, And Healthcare Professionals.
Knowledge Of Evidence-Based Practices And Current Trends: A Thorough Understanding Of Evidence-Based Practices And Current Trends In Prenatal And Postnatal Care Is Crucial For A Women & Children's Ob Educator At Universal Health Services. This Includes Staying Up-To-Date On The Latest Research And Guidelines In The Field.
Certification In Childbirth Education: Candidates With A Certification In Childbirth Education, Such As Lamaze Or Bradley Method, Would Be Highly Preferred For This Role. This Demonstrates A Commitment To Providing High-Quality, Evidence-Based Education To Expectant Mothers And Their Families.
