Job Description

We are currently seeking a highly organized and efficient individual to join our team as a Unit Clerk/Coordinator. This role is crucial to the smooth operation of our unit and requires a dedicated individual who is able to multitask and communicate effectively with various team members.   1. Greet and welcome patients, visitors, and staff in a friendly and professional manner.
  2. Answer phone calls and respond to inquiries or direct calls to the appropriate department.
  3. Maintain patient records and ensure they are accurate and up-to-date.
  4. Keep track of patient appointments and assist with scheduling as needed.
  5. Monitor and order office supplies to ensure adequate stock levels.
  6. Assist with administrative tasks such as filing, faxing, and scanning.
  7. Communicate effectively with various team members, including nurses, doctors, and other healthcare professionals.
  8. Maintain confidentiality of patient information in accordance with HIPAA regulations.
  9. Act as a liaison between patients, families, and healthcare providers.
  10. Coordinate patient transfers and admissions as needed.
  11. Collect and process patient payments and insurance information.
  12. Provide excellent customer service and address any patient concerns or complaints.
  13. Collaborate with other unit clerks/coordinators to ensure smooth operation of the unit.
  14. Attend staff meetings and provide updates on unit activities and patient needs.
  15. Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor.

Job Qualifications
  • High School Diploma Or Equivalent: A Formal Education Is Typically Required For A Unit Clerk/Coord Position At Universal Health Services. This Demonstrates Basic Knowledge And Understanding Of Various Subjects, Including Communication, Math, And Computer Skills.
