- Perform a variety of laboratory procedures, including tissue processing, embedding, sectioning, staining, and cover slipping, to aid in the diagnosis and treatment of diseases.
- Maintain accurate and organized records of all laboratory procedures performed, including sample information, test results, and quality control data.
- Ensure all laboratory equipment and instruments are properly maintained, calibrated, and operated according to standard protocols and safety regulations.
- Collaborate with other members of the healthcare team to ensure timely and accurate delivery of results to assist in patient care.
- Monitor and maintain inventory of laboratory supplies and reagents, making recommendations for ordering when necessary.
- Adhere to all laboratory policies and procedures, including safety protocols and HIPAA regulations, to ensure a safe and confidential work environment.
- Participate in quality assurance and quality control activities, including proficiency testing and troubleshooting any issues that may arise.
- Continuously seek opportunities for professional development and stay up-to-date with advancements and changes in the field of histology.
- Provide excellent customer service to patients and their families, addressing any concerns or questions they may have in a timely and professional manner.
- Demonstrate a strong attention to detail and accuracy in all laboratory procedures, maintaining the highest standards of quality and precision.
Bachelor's Degree In Histotechnology Or Related Field.
Certification As A Histotechnologist (Htl) Or Histotechnician (Ht) Through Ascp.
Minimum Of 2 Years Of Experience In A Clinical Or Research Histology Laboratory.
Strong Knowledge Of Histology Techniques, Equipment, And Procedures.
Familiarity With Laboratory Quality Control And Safety Protocols.
