In this remote per diem role, you will play a crucial role in ensuring accurate and timely coding of medical records, supporting our mission to deliver high-quality care to our patients.   1. Accurately and efficiently code medical records according to established coding guidelines and standards.
  2. Review and analyze medical documentation to identify and assign appropriate codes for diagnoses, procedures, and services.
  3. Ensure all codes are supported by proper documentation and adhere to coding and billing regulations.
  4. Collaborate with healthcare providers and other team members to clarify documentation and ensure accurate coding.
  5. Keep up-to-date with changes in coding guidelines and regulations to ensure accurate and compliant coding practices.
  6. Maintain a high level of productivity and accuracy in coding assignments.
  7. Communicate effectively with team members and management regarding any coding-related issues or concerns.
  8. Provide training and guidance to other coding staff as needed.
  9. Participate in coding audits and quality improvement initiatives to maintain high-quality coding standards.
  10. Adhere to ethical and confidentiality standards in handling sensitive patient information.
  11. Continuously strive to improve coding efficiency and accuracy through ongoing education and professional development.
  12. Maintain strict confidentiality of patient information and adhere to HIPAA regulations.
  13. Work collaboratively with other departments to resolve coding-related issues and ensure proper reimbursement.
  14. Demonstrate a commitment to the mission, vision, and values of Universal Health Services and Valley Health System.
  15. Perform additional duties and responsibilities as assigned by management.

Job Qualifications
  • Certified Coding Specialist (Ccs) Or Certified Professional Coder (Cpc) Credential.

  • Minimum Of 5 Years Coding Experience In A Healthcare Setting.

  • Extensive Knowledge Of Icd-10-Cm, Cpt, And Hcpcs Coding Systems.

  • Familiarity With Electronic Health Record (Ehr) Systems And Coding Software.

  • Strong Understanding Of Medical Terminology, Anatomy, And Physiology.
