  1. Perform phlebotomy procedures on patients with precision and accuracy.
  2. Maintain a safe and sterile working environment in accordance with OSHA and Universal Health Services standards.
  3. Coordinate with other healthcare professionals to ensure proper and timely collection of samples.
  4. Handle and label collected samples correctly and ensure proper storage and transportation.
  5. Accurately record and maintain patient information and test results.
  6. Monitor and maintain inventory levels of phlebotomy supplies.
  7. Train and mentor junior phlebotomists in proper techniques and procedures.
  8. Stay updated on industry best practices and advancements in phlebotomy.
  9. Adhere to HIPAA regulations and maintain patient confidentiality.
  10. Communicate effectively with patients to alleviate any fears or concerns.
  11. Provide excellent customer service and address any patient inquiries or complaints.
  12. Collaborate with the healthcare team to provide high-quality and timely patient care.
  13. Follow all safety protocols to prevent the spread of infections and diseases.
  14. Perform quality control procedures to ensure accurate and reliable test results.
  15. Assist in the development and implementation of new phlebotomy protocols and procedures.
  16. Participate in continuous education and training to enhance skills and knowledge.
  17. Ensure compliance with all regulatory and accreditation standards.
  18. Maintain cleanliness and organization of phlebotomy equipment and work area.
  19. Participate in team meetings and contribute ideas for process improvement.
  20. Perform any other duties as assigned by the supervisor.

Job Qualifications
  • Minimum Of 5 Years Of Experience As A Phlebotomist With Demonstrated Proficiency In Both Routine And Specialized Blood Collection Techniques.

  • Current Certification As A Phlebotomy Technician (Pbt) From A Nationally Recognized Organization Such As The American Society For Clinical Pathology (Ascp) Or The National Healthcareer Association (Nha).

  • Strong Understanding Of Infection Control And Safety Protocols Related To Phlebotomy Procedures, Including Proper Disposal Of Sharps And Hazardous Materials.

  • Excellent Communication And Interpersonal Skills, With The Ability To Interact With Patients Of All Ages And Backgrounds In A Compassionate And Professional Manner.

  • Experience With Electronic Medical Records (Emr) And Proficiency In Using Laboratory Information Systems (Lis) For Accurate And Timely Entry Of Patient Data And Test Results.
