- Provide exceptional healthcare: The primary responsibility of this role is to provide high-quality healthcare to patients undergoing open heart surgeries.
- Collaborate with a team of healthcare professionals: Work closely with a team of experienced professionals to ensure coordinated and comprehensive care for patients.
- Utilize expertise and compassion: Use your specialized knowledge and compassionate approach to provide personalized care to patients undergoing open heart surgeries.
- Perform nursing duties: Administer medications, monitor vital signs, and assist with procedures and surgeries as needed.
- Ensure patient safety: Adhere to safety protocols and procedures to ensure the well-being of patients at all times.
- Monitor patient progress: Observe and assess patients' physical and emotional status, and communicate any changes or concerns to the healthcare team.
- Educate patients and their families: Provide education and support to patients and their families regarding post-surgery care, medications, and any other necessary information.
- Maintain accurate records: Document all patient care activities accurately and thoroughly in patient records.
- Follow hospital policies and procedures: Adhere to hospital policies and procedures, as well as state and federal regulations, to ensure quality and compliance.
- Act as an advocate: Serve as a patient advocate, ensuring their needs and preferences are respected and addressed.
- Attend trainings and meetings: Participate in continuing education and attend staff meetings to stay updated on best practices and procedures.
- Foster a positive work environment: Promote a positive work environment by fostering teamwork, communication, and mutual respect among colleagues.
- Demonstrate professionalism: Maintain a professional and courteous demeanor at all times, adhering to the hospital's code of conduct and ethics.
- Attend to other duties as assigned: Perform any other duties as assigned by the supervisor or hospital administration to contribute to the smooth functioning of the department and the organization as a whole.
Current And Valid Registered Nurse (Rn) License In The State Of Employment.
Minimum Of 2 Years Of Experience In Surgical Nursing, Preferably In An Open Heart Operating Room Setting.
Bls And Acls Certifications Required; Pals Certification Preferred.
Strong Knowledge And Understanding Of Surgical Procedures, Instrumentation, And Equipment Used In Open Heart Surgeries.
Ability To Remain Calm And Focused In High-Stress Situations, And Effectively Communicate With Patients, Families, And Healthcare Team Members.
