Job Description

Universal Health Services is seeking a dedicated and skilled Registered Nurse (RN) to join our team as a full-time night shift nurse in our perinatal unit.   1. Provide compassionate and comprehensive care to mothers and newborns in the perinatal unit.
  2. Utilize your strong background in perinatal nursing to effectively assess and monitor patients' conditions.
  3. Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by physicians.
  4. Monitor and document patients' vital signs and progress throughout their stay in the perinatal unit.
  5. Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to create individualized care plans for each patient.
  6. Educate and support mothers and families on newborn care, breastfeeding, and postpartum recovery.
  7. Maintain a safe and clean environment for patients and their families.
  8. Adhere to all hospital policies and procedures, as well as state and federal regulations.
  9. Act as an advocate for patients and their families, ensuring their needs and concerns are addressed.
  10. Continuously evaluate and improve the quality of care provided to patients in the perinatal unit.
  11. Participate in ongoing education and training to stay updated on best practices in perinatal nursing.
  12. Communicate effectively with physicians, colleagues, and other healthcare professionals to ensure coordinated and efficient care.
  13. Remain calm and composed in emergency situations and effectively handle any complications that may arise in the perinatal unit.
  14. Maintain accurate and thorough documentation of patient care and interventions.
  15. Promote a positive and welcoming atmosphere for patients and their families, fostering a sense of trust and comfort during their stay.

Job Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree In Nursing (Bsn) Or Higher: A Minimum Of A Bachelor's Degree In Nursing Is Typically Required For A Registered Nurse Position, With A Focus On Perinatal Care.

  • Active Rn License: All Rns Must Hold A Current And Active License In The State Where They Practice. This Ensures That They Are Qualified And Authorized To Provide Patient Care.

  • Experience In Perinatal Care: A Strong Background In Perinatal Care Is Essential For This Position. Candidates Should Have Experience In Labor And Delivery, Postpartum Care, And Neonatal Care.

  • Current Bls And Nrp Certifications: Basic Life Support (Bls) And Neonatal Resuscitation Program (Nrp) Certifications Are Required For Perinatal Nurses To Provide Emergency Care To Mothers And Newborns.

  • Strong Communication And Critical Thinking Skills: Effective Communication And Critical Thinking Skills Are Crucial For Perinatal Nurses, As They Must Be Able To Provide Support And Education To New Mothers And Their Families, As Well As Make Critical Decisions In Emergency Situations.
