- Develop and implement therapeutic recreational activities for patients with mental health and addiction issues.
- Conduct assessments and create individualized treatment plans for patients based on their needs and interests.
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure a comprehensive approach to patient care.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records and progress notes.
- Provide support and guidance to patients during recreational activities, promoting a positive and safe environment.
- Educate patients and their families on the benefits of recreational therapy and how it can aid in their recovery.
- Stay current on industry trends and research to continuously improve and enhance recreational therapy programs.
- Monitor and evaluate patient progress, making adjustments to treatment plans as necessary.

- Participate in team meetings and collaborate with colleagues to develop treatment goals and strategies.

- Assist in the planning and execution of special events and outings for patients.

Bachelor's Degree In Recreation Therapy Or Related Field: A Strong Educational Background In Recreation Therapy Is Essential For This Role. A Bachelor's Degree In Recreation Therapy Or A Related Field Provides The Necessary Knowledge And Skills To Effectively Plan And Implement Therapeutic Activities For Individuals With Various Physical, Mental, And Emotional Disabilities.
Certification In Recreation Therapy: Most Employers Prefer Candidates Who Are Certified By The National Council For Therapeutic Recreation Certification (Nctrc). This Certification Ensures That The Individual Has Met The Required Standards For Knowledge And Competency In The Field Of Recreation Therapy.
Experience Working With Diverse Populations: Universal Health Services Serves A Diverse Population Of Patients, Including Those With Physical Disabilities, Mental Health Disorders, And Substance Abuse Issues. Therefore, Candidates Should Have Experience Working With Different Populations And A Strong Understanding Of Their Needs And Challenges.
