
Psych RN Day Shift (Full-time)

- Conduct comprehensive patient assessments to determine individual needs and develop appropriate treatment plans.
- Administer medications and monitor patient responses, making adjustments as needed.
- Provide ongoing monitoring and evaluation of patients' mental health status.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members, including therapists, psychologists, and physicians, to ensure holistic and effective patient care.
- Educate patients and their families on mental health disorders, treatment options, and coping strategies.
- Maintain accurate and thorough documentation of patient care, including progress notes, treatment plans, and discharge summaries.
- Monitor and ensure compliance with all state and federal regulations and facility policies.
- Respond to crisis situations and provide appropriate interventions to de-escalate and ensure patient safety.
- Serve as an advocate for patients' rights and participate in treatment planning and review meetings.
- Stay current with developments in psychiatric treatment and participate in ongoing training and education opportunities.
- Maintain a safe and therapeutic environment for patients, staff, and visitors.
- Collaborate with community resources to facilitate appropriate aftercare for patients upon discharge.
- Provide support and guidance to less experienced nursing staff.
- Adhere to ethical and professional standards and maintain confidentiality of patient information.
- Promote a positive and respectful work environment and contribute to a culture of continuous improvement.
Bachelor's Degree In Nursing Or Related Field: A Psych Rn Must Have A Solid Foundation In Nursing Theory, Principles, And Practice. A Bachelor's Degree Can Provide This Foundation And Also Demonstrate A Commitment To Ongoing Education And Professional Growth.
Active Rn License In State Of Employment: All Psych Rns Must Be Licensed In The State Where They Are Employed. This Ensures That They Have Met The Necessary Requirements To Practice Nursing And Are Up-To-Date On State Regulations And Laws.
Minimum Of 2 Years Of Experience In Psychiatric Nursing: Psychiatric Nursing Is A Specialized Field That Requires Specific Knowledge And Skills To Effectively Care For Patients With Mental Health Conditions. A Minimum Of 2 Years Of Experience In This Area Can Demonstrate Proficiency And Competency In The Role.
Bls And Acls Certification: Basic Life Support (Bls) And Advanced Cardiac Life Support (Acls) Certifications Are Necessary For An Rn To Respond To Emergency Situations And Provide Life-Saving Interventions. In A Psychiatric Setting, These Skills May Be Needed To Manage Patients Experiencing Psychiatric Crises.
Availability To Work Day Shift On A Full-Time Basis: Many Psychiatric Facilities Operate 24/7, So A Psych Rn Must Be Available To Work A Variety Of Shifts. Full-Time Availability For Day Shifts Can Ensure Adequate Coverage And Continuity Of Care For Patients.
