  1. Perform phlebotomy procedures on patients in a safe and efficient manner, following established protocols and procedures.
  2. Accurately identify patients and collect appropriate specimens according to physician orders.
  3. Maintain a clean and organized work area, including properly disposing of used supplies and following infection control guidelines.
  4. Use proper techniques to label, transport, and store specimens.
  5. Utilize electronic medical records to accurately document collected specimens and patient information.
  6. Communicate effectively with patients, coworkers, and other healthcare professionals to ensure a positive patient experience.
  7. Adhere to all safety and compliance regulations, including OSHA and HIPAA guidelines.
  8. Monitor and troubleshoot any issues with equipment or supplies, reporting any malfunctions or shortages to management.
  9. Participate in ongoing training and education to stay current on phlebotomy techniques and best practices.
  10. Maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive patient information with professionalism.
  11. Collaborate with other members of the healthcare team to ensure efficient and effective patient care.
  12. Demonstrate a compassionate and caring attitude towards patients and their families.
  13. Assist with other duties as assigned by management to support the overall functioning of the phlebotomy department.

Job Qualifications
  • Certification In Phlebotomy: Candidates For A Prn Phlebotomist Position At Universal Health Services Should Have A Valid Certification In Phlebotomy From An Accredited Program Or Institution.

  • Experience In A Healthcare Setting: Previous Experience Working As A Phlebotomist In A Healthcare Facility, Such As A Hospital Or Clinic, Is Highly Desired For This Prn Role.

  • Knowledge Of Medical Terminology And Procedures: Phlebotomists At Universal Health Services Must Have A Deep Understanding Of Medical Terminology And Procedures Related To Drawing And Handling Blood Samples.

  • Strong Communication Skills: As A Prn Phlebotomist, You Will Be Interacting With Patients, Nurses, And Other Healthcare Professionals On A Daily Basis. Therefore, Excellent Communication Skills, Both Verbal And Written, Are Essential For This Role.

  • Ability To Work Independently: Prn Phlebotomists At Universal Health Services Must Be Able To Work Independently And Without Direct Supervision. This Includes Managing Their Own Schedule, Prioritizing Tasks, And Making Decisions Regarding Patient Care.
