- Manage patient accounts and ensure timely and accurate billing of healthcare services.
- Review insurance claims and follow up on any denials or discrepancies.
- Work with patients and insurance companies to resolve billing inquiries and disputes.
- Process and post payments, including co-pays, deductibles, and insurance reimbursements.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records and billing information.
- Collaborate with other departments to resolve any billing or payment-related issues.
- Adhere to all relevant healthcare regulations and compliance standards.
- Provide exceptional customer service and address patient concerns or complaints in a timely and professional manner.
- Keep track of outstanding balances and follow up on past due accounts.
- Prepare and submit financial reports and analysis as needed.
- Stay updated on changes in insurance policies and billing procedures.

Proficiency In Medical Billing And Coding: A Patient Accounts Representative At Universal Health Services Should Have A Strong Understanding Of Medical Billing And Coding Procedures, Including Knowledge Of Cpt, Icd-10, And Hcpcs Codes.
Knowledge Of Insurance Claims Processing: The Ideal Candidate Should Have Experience With Insurance Claims Processing, Including Familiarity With Different Insurance Plans And Policies, As Well As The Ability To Navigate Claim Denials And Appeals.
Excellent Communication Skills: As A Primary Point Of Contact For Patients, Insurance Companies, And Other Healthcare Providers, A Patient Accounts Representative Should Possess Excellent Communication Skills, Both Written And Verbal.
Attention To Detail: In Order To Accurately Process And Maintain Patient Accounts, The Candidate Must Have A Strong Eye For Detail And Be Able To Identify Errors Or Discrepancies In Billing And Coding.
Familiarity With Electronic Health Records (Ehr) Systems: Universal Health Services Utilizes Electronic Health Records To Maintain Patient Information, So The Ideal Candidate Should Have Experience Using Ehr Systems And Be Comfortable Navigating And Updating Patient Records.
